To gain entry into any of the die press cells, an operator must use one of the control option pods out side of a specific cell. Pressing the yellow pushbutton outside of the cell will send a signal to the cell’s control system, bring the machinery to a controlled rest. When all the machinery in the cell has come to a rest, the control system will energise the solenoid allowing access into the cell. The solenoid in this solution has two safety circuits that have monitoring switches running in series: one switch for the solenoid, and one switch for the actuator. The All-in-One Emergency Escape Head and Handle used in the configuration allows immediate escape and power isolation when activated in the unlikely event an operator finds themselves locked inside the cell.

The metal die stamping presses in an automotive manufacturing plant are used to form various automotive body parts. The parts made from the stamping presses will be welded together to assemble the frame of a vehicle later in the manufacturing process. These presses are used to create a series of different models; therefore, personnel may require entry in order to alter the current stamping operation. Due to the hazards that arise from such a dangerous process, operators must only be able to adjust the machinery once all the moving parts of the presses have come to a controlled stop.
